not sure what is going on? it has the green arrow showing a reply? i will let you know how this all turns out. sunday i was in Moscow when i get this text from the guy asking me if he finds the controls will i give him 500 for the winch? i ask if the guy from new York has contacted him yet, he said no. i told him if he gets the controls then absolutely. he told me the guy that gave him the winch told him the controls were sitting next to the fence where the winch was sitting when he picked it up. he told me its a ways off and it would be a few days before he could get out there to check. today i get a picture from him showing the controls sitting with the winch. i told him i think i love him, he told me for 500 dollars he will love me back! i asked what he has to lift it as i remember something sketchy weeks ago when i talked to him. he said all he has is a skid steer that wont lift it but can sort of help load it on his dump trailer if he pushes one end on the lip of the trailer and lowers the trailer while lifting and shoving with said skid steer. i really don't want to drag my tracked loader 120 miles one way and my off road forklift would be questionable if it could lift it. i offered the guy 150 dollars to deliver it here as that's how much in fuel it will cost at 5 miles per gallon for me.

he agrees to that but wants me to pay him first. this part was on the phone. he told me someone tried to scam him from Oklahoma with the usual craigslist scam of a cashiers check. he did say he never actually talked to anyone in person. not that he did not trust me he just is a poor guy with no money scrapping to get by. i told him not that i don't trust him but scrappers rank up there with craigslist freaks! he said to pay half now and the other half when he gets here. i said why would he want to come here after the half. he said to get the other half. i said the first half is more then you have now, if you did not feel like showing up that's money in your pocket. he said he would give me his address, i told him i will give you my address. finally i asked him if he had enough money to buy fuel to make it here and he said no. i will probably wire him the 150 i would have to spend to drag my outfit that far and back. if the deal falls through and he is a typical methed out scrapper then i just saved you a headache! i wanted to check with you and be sure you did not make a deal with him but how could you when i cannot seem to get you a message. that's why i am telling you here rather then in a personal message as i don't want to waste valuable key strokes on the keyboard.

Ok, U-joint. It sounds like a real fiasco! I would love to have those controls and shaft, but what are you gonna do?? Thanks again.

thanks for the compliment on the chevy. its a 1980 1 ton that had a 400 with a 400 automatic. I put a 366 from a truck and a 4 speed manual transmission. got my eye on a 427 truck engine to replace the 366 dog but need to catch up on projects first. I actually painted that pick up new cat yellow. was not cat paint but was dupont chromobase. the hood is black and has a large cat logo on the hood. on the winch, you want the entire winch with controls? I have another winch I may buy but it comes with a tractor so I was wondering what you were looking for? I will try sending you a private message again.

Cool that you got what you needed. Im reading this late but i have a d6n winch on my dozer. If all else failed i would copy my controls and make you some. Looks like u are good now.
