Still ok the hunt for the puller.

I do have 5 Sets of rim pulling kit, 3x105 ton cylinders and 2 x 74 ton cylinders with all the tooling for D2 through to D9 even the Komatsu and Fiat adaptors, heaps of legs both long and short although the short ones will do all the CAT's, every Dead shaft adaptor at least twice, all the pushing sleeves etc, trouble is I am in the U.K. as I would sell some of it. tctractors

Pm me I would be interested in a 100ton cylinder legs and adapters to do specifically cat D7E and G.

Would be interested in stuff to do D6’s as well such as D6 c and d models.

If you interested shoot me a PM when you get a price in mind and we can see if we can figure a cost of freight to Texas. If you don’t want to mess with it I understand.

I recently did up finals on a D7G and bought a lot of they adaptors through cat, the ones for pushing and pulling sprockets and the dead axles. Anything that was easy to make like the pulling studs and arms I got made locally at a engineering shop, this was a lot cheaper than buying them through cat. Priceless gear once you have it.

I used a 100ton hollow ram I bought off ebay.

Did you have much trouble pushing it back on? I have enough cylinders steel and all thread to pull it off. But getting it back on i thought it would be nice to have the right gear. Do you have the part number for the adapters you got from cat.
I have gotten mixed input on what all is actually needed.

Thanks

Nah it went back on easy with the right gear. Got everything clean and pressed on to tonnage spec. There is two adaptors sets outlined in the service manual which does make it a little confusing, there is a "early set" and a "later set", both work but the later set is better built and the only ones available through cat when I checked two years ago. Ill chase the numbers up for you.

The later set of gear screws onto the sprocket retaining nut thread and used that to anchor the ram to the sprocket shaft so the sprocket drives on.

The sleeves I used were 5P6222 and 5P6220.

The inner one has a thread in it and screws onto the sprocket retaining nut thread, I then screwed a stud in the end of it (the inner sleeve has a thread in it for this also) and slid the hollow ram over it and retained the end of the stud against the piston of the ram. The outer sleeve slides over the inner one and sits between the cylinder and sprocket. So when you pump the ram, it pushes the outer sleeve against the sprocket thus pushing it on.

Really you only need the inner sleeve that has the threads to screw onto the sprocket retaining nut thread and thread the other end so you can screw a stud into it. The outer sleeve is purely just a spacer and could be easily manufactured - I can measure mine if you want.

I used a hollow 100ton ram similar to this - www.ebay.com.au/itm/100-TONNE-HOLLOW-HYD...2:g:0zUAAOxyOM5RZrqK

Cheers
Billy
