I have heard the first check you write on a steam traction engine is your cheapest on to write in its restoration. I am sure a steam shovel would fall under the same boat, but that first check will be close to the rest in its restoration. You are not only looking for a penny in a haystack, but a 1914-D wheat penny in a threshing crews wheat chaff pile for a farmer with over 200 acres of wheat. Good luck in the search, but with those restrictions a you are lucky to find just the boom and bucket. Just my observation of many years of watching prices of early 1900's machinery change hands (unfortunately never into my hands).

Buy Marv's half scale Phoenix logging steam crawler and add a 3/4 swing attachment to it. It was for sale. Not sure if he still has it. I believe it's either in Rush City or Saint Cloud.
