Gentleman I am in the market for a good used head that has no cracks in it, I have a beautiful crawler that I found to have a bad head. I use the tractor for sugaring so I'll be in a bind once the snow starts getting deep up here in Connecticut. I'm willing to pay handsomely for a fellow to put in the work of pullin the head off a machine. I am additionally interested in any other R2 engine or chassis parts depending on what they are. My cell is 860-398-8929 ask for John.

John,

What year is that tractor? Is that a D3400 engine?

It is my understanding that the 3400G and D3400 use the same basic head.

I thought the 3400G was the gasoline version, and the D3400 was the diesel version. If that were correct, wouldn't the head be one of the primary parts which was different between the two engines?

I must not be right about the engine model designation.

Pete.

Yes, spark plugs are the difference. Component parts may interchange.

Combustion chamber would be larger on the petrol kero to get compression ratio a bit lower than the diesel.

I have a head it's been sitting outside on a engine for some time now not sure of condition but I'm willing to remove it then send it out to a machine shop. If interested give me a call.

Thanks Jon
