Hi Team,
scan below may help. This is what we used at the Dealer for all D315/D318 engine applications--plus anything else it may fit safely.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

can i put this directly to the covers and then just snug the plate down to the covers or do i have to remove the covers and have a nut above and below the channel? thanks again for your time

Replied by edb on topic Fitting the Lifting Bracket
Hi,
we used to remove the nuts and the sealing aluminium washers and fit the bracket on the studs without removing the covers. The studs were long enough to do this in my experience, we usually used flat washers over the slotted holes in the bracket for safety.

Hi Dan,
by two different spec. sheets here I see around 3100lbs dry weight for a basic engine, do not know what if any attachments may be on it to be more accurate for you.
Someone else may have more definite figures.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

I like the channel style beam, will have to make one. Here is a bit of rigging I made to lift a D8800. Used trailer D rings and some heavy angle.
