The tractor end shaft is 1.575" diameter (measured on my parts 8U). Coupling root diameter is 1.587. OD is 2.0". Spline count is 16.
Looks to be typical Cat odd ball stuff.
If
www.hubcity.com
doesn't have it nobody will.
I'll work up a complete sketch of the coupling shaft and post it later.

I really appreciate it Old Magnet. I was close with my measurement then, not bad for reaching inside the bevel gear housing with a tape measure. I used to program, set up, and run a 4 axis wire EDM back in the day, I guess I will beg and borrow some time on one and make a part if I can't find one. I still have some feelers out but nothing yet. Are you sure you wouldn't just part with that shaft and take your chances with the rest of the gear? If not I understand, but it never hurts to ask.

I have bought from hub city before too, they so far haven't shown me a piece that will work either.

Here are a couple pictures (hopefully) of the unit I bought for my 9U. Just haven't put it on. Was told it came off of a 9U so it should be right. The shaft that is on it is the one it came with and measures 22 1/8 inches long. The other shaft goes with another unit that I think came off of a D6C. Looks real similar, but measures 26 1/2 inches long. Sorry, cant help you with the parts you need.

Those shafts are a bit long but probably could be shortened. The one off my 8U parts tractor is only 14" long.

I have a CCU in the shed that I took off a 9U waiting for installation on my 9U. I will measure the shaft in the morning and post a picture or two. If my memory is correct I don't think the shaft is very long. 14" is probably close.

Here is some pictures of the one for my 9U.
As you can see in the photo's, the end splines are welded to a center section. If you have access to a longer shaft with the correct splines it may be simple to cut the weld out and shorten to the correct length for your machine.
Edit: Maybe you can make a deal with Jim Sixty and cut both down in exchange for one of them. Of course I would pull the rear transmission cover first and insert the shaft to check if the protrusion matches what's needed for your CCU but I am betting the shafts are long for the 9U.

Thanks for all the info and input one and all, special thanks to Old Magnet for the drawing. I have the shaft that came with this unit but it is set up for a D7, the bevel gear is proper size for a D6 though and I have all the other pieces I need. I was told this was factory on the guys D6 and the coupling shaft was built by Cat to fit his D7. I'd gladly trade for a good D6 shaft if someone had one. I am going to see if I can get one made if I cannot find one.
