I had solid copper gaskets made for a cat 30 I've had the head off 7 times because any slight difference in jug height and they will not seal so I bought a set from Olson's but what I was trying to achive is a gasket with a fire ring and now after all the agrivation they are starting to make them. My machinist still has the jig but I think we should have used a little softer copper to get a better crush

Sorry that did not work as planned, hopefully Olsens will continue to make all models in this new style head gasket.

Thank you for the chart. Misplaced my download on the cloud and hard drives. Will print this out and post it on the wall.

I'll bring them up to 40ftlbs first.
And then whats recomended on the list.
Then after running engine 90ft lbs and 55ft lbs?

Frank

This Chart? I don't think I ran mine up to 90 ftlbs? I believe I stopped at 75 ftlbs as they were lubricated. Can't remember for sure but mine never leaked. If I did run them to 90 ftlbs it was because I used hardened steel washers between the nut and the casting.
edb says 57 ftlbs and Bruce through a scan with inch/lbs on it. That sheet looks like the one I used, disregard the 2 torque vales above, just follow the tightening sequence.
