Hey guys, I have never been a thread/post cop or anything and I don't really want to start, but this probably went a bit far. I am friends with many of you and please do not think I am scolding you. Simply put the person who placed this ad is new to this BB and might not know what current tractor values are for their machines. We should try to be more welcoming to new people and help educate them as they try to learn more about this hobby and their machines. If someone thinks there tractor is worth that much, let them think that. If they are really trying to do research and learn they will come to see a closer version of reality in their own time. Thanks guys! Take care and I hope this finds everyone well!

A couple of us also felt the same way. I have reached out to a couple of the posters here and asked them to edit their posts, as I felt they at least reached the line, if not crossing it. Many here have been respectful and helpful and that is what I like to see on here.
Given that the posters have chosen not to edit their own posts, I am going to edit them now. (Assuming I can figure out how.)
Thanks for the nudge and the helpful explanation of your thoughts.
Pete.

Thanks for a job well done Pete. Agreed with the rest of those attempting to make this board a pleasant experience, regardless of your opinions.

Made of Cat and Best parts I can understand but what Holt bits are fitted? Would be worth a look, the 2,5 & 10 ton tractors they were producing at the time were a different beast altogether and don't think too may parts would be useable on a sixty. Others who know more than me may be able to provide better info.
on the rear tag with serial # ........... Caterpillar- Best- Holt............... stamped above number

Hey lorimc4169, I hope I wasn't too much of an instigator, most of the guys here like to "pick" a little bit, & I'm sure it wasn't meant to be personal, thanks for being a good sport, most everyone here gets their turn. As a good buddy of mine likes to say "hey I have no worries, my wife tends my money, and the neighbors tend my business"

I sent one to Australia 2 years ago for 18K, cold weather running original condition, no cab and when they came to get it admitted that they got it cheep. Freight is the problem on anything.
