I do stand corrected, sorry for upping your heart rate, after being mired it was up enough.
Keep Smiling,

Glad to hear there's only one spring. In the past several days I pressure washed a cubic acre of mud and stones off the CAT. It's probably as clean as it will ever get. Even found some grease fittings I never saw before.
Hope you can tolerate a few more questions!
How thick is the wrench for adjusting the tracks? It looks like it would have to be quite thin to fit between the access path. Both nuts look like they are at the minimum as there is no thread showing. The guard over one of the adjusters is bent and blocks any access for getting a wrench in there.
Is the winch lever with the angled ratchet teeth the brake (not the three-position forward-neutral-reverse lever)? I wonder if someone reassembled the linkage wrong between the lever and the winch arm - the brake does not work at all and the lever has three different pivot holes. I should have taken a photo of it when I was there yesterday.

I measured my track wrench ( number 5H5053 ) to be 1 inch thick. The opening is 2 5/8 inch plus or minus for wear. I can not help on the access opening as my guards are missing. Good luck Clay

Adjusting the track on the D4 is a little tricky:
There is not much room to work with.
From the manual, with the correct angled head wrench (2-3/4 in. original size and there are two different angle heads) expect only about 1/12 turn of the nut at a time.
Adjustment can be best made by dropping the blade over a ramp. Disconnect the link between the side arm and the crank and raise the crank assembly to its extreme lift. Remove the cover guard assembly over the adjusting nut and loosen the clamp bolts. Maximum adjustment is 4 in. between the nuts.
The winch lever with ratchet teeth is the brake. The three holes are: center pivot, upper hole is rod attachment point for "overwinding drum", the lower for "underwinding drum"

Thanks again friends.
The wrench sunds like a real whopper.
The winch lever arrangement is so simple now that you've described it. I expected some complicated solution
