That's when your starting system HAS to work!

The last time we got really stuck with the older 9U, the pony hadn't worked in years, so by the time we got another tractor on site, we had had to shut it down. It's one thing to get a running tractor unstuck and a whole 'nother situation when it's a dead lump of iron.:D

We first tried a D5 without a winch and the operator thought he might could shove/dig the 9U out. The D5 couldn't push it out, so he would get on a corner, lift and shove. It looked like he was screwing it into the ground, just kept going down in the mud.

Of course a D7 with towing winch will pull a 9U most anywhere, so it worked out ok in the end.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

The only victim of running the d7 today was the exhaust manifold. It broke off. Other than that it ran great all day. Jeff
