Tanker,
That's one way to make an LGP machine....tons of welding though. Didn't know anyone in IA was farming with steel, especially up north. (unless you're far east or west in hilly country) What king of work will you be using it for?

There was a guy farming hills here years ago running two TD 14's. One had about 8" welded on the outside of the pads. Me and hired man took it out and made a few rounds after a few drinks at the store. I turned too short and knocked off a couple of the extensions. We went and got my buzz box up there and I welded them back on. My friend told his boss about it the next day and he got a laugh out of it.

When I started farming w/ old D7's the local coffee shop crowd had such a good time trashing me [ they were getting a double whammy- wasting time & giving each other bad advice]- when fuel got high - they got worse when seeing me fill up w/ waste oil-- now there is a lot of rubber track cats showing up on said kibitzers farms:lol: here's some pics of rubber tired stuff..

Disc plow & moldboard plow..
Did use dbl offset but like 60' better- as dirt is so loose back gang on dbl offset likes to stall..

That would be interesting to try pulling implements with my D6 if I had rear hydraulics....although the powershift probably wouldn't be geared right for that kind of work.
