There's no way any D6D is going to pull that disk harrow!
Hey Delta! Well, OK, then maybe we could hook two of those disks together
in a squadron hitch, if you think that would be better:rolleyes:

I guess my only concern is pulling a 42' JD 960 cultivator (largest piece of equipment on the farm). Last owner was pulling an IH 35' chisel plow so I'm sure I'll have plenty of HP to spare. The Big G disc is an impressive piece of equipment.
Hills around here are small compared to the ones 98J is farming up and over. Soil is sandy loam so equipment pull fairly easy even for the 9U.
I'll post some pictures of my new CAT. I'll even take some pics of the spin on filter housing on the 9U when I change oil.

Hey NW! You won't even know that your 42' cultivator is back there:)
Does your "D" have the brakes hooked up to the steering clutch handles?
The one we had was set up that way.....I got so that I REALLY liked that.....
made it hard when I got in one of the other Cats that didn't have that feature.
Some guys had the brakes disconnected from the handles.....the boss did that
when he took delivery on his brand new D5B .....he had heard about some problems with that set up, so he had them disconnected. Never had any problems with them on the D6D ( it came on to the ranch used) Likewise for
the AG6 (which is a D6D on steroids) Looking forward to seeing pictures of your
new play toy in action.

98J: Pretty sure the brakes aren't hooked to the steering clutches.
I figured I'd pull the big implements this spring to see how the tractor handles. If I don't have any problems, I'll leave the HP alone.
Here are some pictures from today. First picture is of the D6-9U spin on filter assembly.

That's one exceptionally clean tractor:D
On the spin-ons, looks like changing filters didn't cause a mess.
Can you identify the parts to make conversion?? Thanks.

NW: Nice looking tractor. I would suspect that you will be able to pull everything you have with satisfaction. That is an interesting shot that 98J sent of the D6D pulling what looks like three sets of moldboard plows. We have two 6 bottoms John Deers in tamdom for a total of 12; 16 inch bottoms.
A D6D plays with that load unless your on something real steep and then your hardley ever in low gear.
Enjoy the new acquistion, as OM has said its a clean looking tractor, looks like it has been well maintained.
