In response to the above posts ,I will have to say that I fell in the catagorie of those not checking thier email very often and failed to respond with some simple questions for verification to keep my log in name from the old BB. Once I responded the moderators promptly processed my request very quickly.
Thanks for all your time and effort to make this board one of the best

Hi Joe,
Status report looks great. Thanks
One more suggestion:
Maybe move it to the announcement section where it can be clearly viewed and not bumped by subsequent posts.

Dear Joe,
I am still having mixed results while attempting to log onto this BB from my home computer. Most of the time, I am unable to log onto the BB from home. I never had a problem using the old BB from my home computer. I use a dial-up ISP and I would not be surprised to learn the people who are having problems registering on this new BB are using dial-up service also. Unless you folks can figure out how make this BB work for the countless number of people in rural America who use a dial-up service, I don’t believe this BB is going survive.

Regards,
Bill Austin

I've tried to keep the site as light as possible as far as a viewing computer's requirements and have always looked to the dial-up user as performance benchmark.

Before going live with this site and after I tested from 3 different locations on dial up using the following speeds: 9600, 14400 and 56000. Response was acceptable at all speeds with only large picture downloads taking any significant amount of time.

I'll test again and see if any issue over the next few days as I'll be at several different locations with my job that have POTS lines I can use to see what the issue is.

I have a slow dial up ( Normally 28800 ) and can always made a dial-up to BB, but its take patience. When the Bulletin Board Icon comes up wait another minute as the pictures must load before the Bulletin Board Icon connects to the " goto to Bulletin Board connect" happens. Often I do a STOP before continuing to find that I can't connect to the BB. Refresh and wait longer. Clay

I resemble the slow dial-up user:D Usually connect at 21.6 or 24 kbps and I have found that setting my link directly to the discussion page is faster than the "front page" (there aren't any pictures to load). You can always click on the directory tree above to navigate out to the front page or wherever you want to go.

I really appreciate the thumbnails as opposed to the embedded full size pictures.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Given the poor spelling, the inability to use proper sentence structure, and the innumerable multiple postings that are everyday occurrences on most of the YT forums, I would suggest that most of the problems encountered are NOT the fault of either Mr. Black, or the ACMOC registration process.
