The track roller plug 2S1731 is 3/4"-16 NPT thread, is 1" long, and is interchangeable with 7M3383 and 5M1282. From memory, it takes a 3/8" sq drive male adaptor to unscrew it/tighten it up.

Checked the thread on my 5M2080 lube nozzle tool (took a while to find it:rolleyes:
) It fits a 3/4-16 fine thread nut - not NPT which would be 14 tpi.

Any chance you can put up a picture of that tool? Or a drawing?
Would be much appreciated.

Just happen to have a pic.
Thats the storage tube above.
The edit is what's going on internally.
Add edit for carrier rollers
Should have bought one earlier....understand Cat raised price considerably $100???.

Ah yes, you have showed me that before.
I'm seeing if my CAT dealer has one.
I know that it will not work for my carrier rollers, but hoping it will for my track rollers.

Works for both carrier and track rollers unless you have an odd ball.
Yeah, my carrier rollers do not have the hole down the center of the shaft. The bearing retainer is a plate with 2 bolts, so the nozzle would not go in.
The CAT dealer has one, but they want $150.
If you can get me the following dimensions, I can make one:
End of thread to center of O-Ring groove. OD & thickness of O-ring.
I have a few leaky rollers and I want to keep them topped off until I can get the time to reseal them.
Thanks.

One of the handiest little tools I have is a thread pitch gauge, look on ebay or anywhere you can find machinist tools, little fold up type like a feeler gauge, I found an older one on ebay, seller did not know what it was, "Miller Falls Co." Greenfield Mass. made in U.S. #135, a real handy tool when trying to verify the thread pitch on something, real time saver too.

Yeah, I actually have one, but was just not able to make the trek out to my land the last 2 days to pull a plug and measure. I'm trying to get the fittings rounded up to make one of these tools.
