Here are pics of the backside of the blade.

This pic shows the pump coming off the front of the engine, and the blade attached to the A-frame. The blade appears to be articulated, but I haven't tried that out yet.

In this pic it shows how the blade was sectioned together.
The blade is pretty small at only 16" high and 81" wide.

Another question what is the strip at the bottom of the blade called, and what is it made out of? I'm assuming(yeah I know) that it is a hardened steel to protect the blade from wear.

Abram there is a shot that shows the pump. If you need a more detailed pic let me know.

I think what your talking about is the cutting edge on the bottom of the blade and they are bolted on all blades that I saw and also the ends (corners) of the blade along side the cutting edge is replaceable too on blades. I,m not sure what material they are made of but I,m sure someone on here does. It,s tough metal but not too hard so it will break easily on hard use.

Did that Cat ever see Oregon? Those side engine guards look for the world like the ones Bob Phillips fabricated in Gaston, OR. Is the hydraulic pump driven with a coupler made out of hydraulic hose? If so, Phillips Tractor might be a place to start looking as regards the blade. Just a long shot...

The blade appears to be an entirely home-built job .. probably built by someone with good earthmover part design skills, and a small fabrication shop, or even just a modest workshop. It's fairly neat, but the blade width and height dimensions are nowhere near any factory blade.

Those turnbuckles are placing a lot of stress on the top of the radiator, where no weight carrying strength was ever planned. You could end up with a fractured top water pipe connection if you left that setup in place for too long.

There are a couple of metal straps that help support it too.:p

Seriously I'm in the process of designing a different mount and guard for the pump. I don't like the way this one is designed

Jack, Oregon is possible that's just a couple hours north of here. The coupler on the pump is a good old Lovejoy however, so it's anybodies guess.

It's not really all that important who made the blade. I'm just looking for info on the machine, and thought I would see if anybody recognized it. I am going to have to make or have made one of those things on the bottom edge of the blade. What ever it's called, and thought if anyone knew who made it, well.... yeah, ok, I was grasping at straws.
Over all the blade and all of it's associated hardware with the exception of the hydraulic pump mount and bumper seem to be top notch in design and execution IMO. I don't know how well I will blade with it but hopefully I will soon see.

FREE Cutting Edge material is your buddies at the Village, Town or County Highway Departments. They have the stuff off from there Dump Truck Snow Plows and an occasional Road Grader replacement. The stuff is brittle in that impact breaks it as stated, hard to drill/bore holes in but is abrasive resistant.
Which is why you want it. They sell it for scrap/beer money so if a good donation is offered, chances are they'll let you pick a usable piece out of the pile.
