French cat-
I am confused why you didn't remove any of the bolts? You will never remove that part with numerous bolts holding it in place. Why not remove the bolts? Picture attached showing which bolts need to be removed.

I think he said he heated it but it must have been before everything was painted. Matt, your right about the bolts. I over looked the bolts thinking he was just showing his procedure. The biggest problem is the diagonal brace is still attached. In the picture the casting doesn't really look too rusted and maybe the only problem is the diagonal brace being attached, if he wanted the whole assembly off.

sorry guys for my confusing picts.
actually, the old LH outside bearing pict was taken far before I discovered the LH track beam to be frozen. today all the bolts have been drived out, even those concerning central twin brace short bearings which luckily were not frozen. of course since I flamed the outside bearing, the high yellow color went burnt out, but I did'nt take any recent pict as I live 8 miles from the shed my TEN stays.
actually, I feel the 2 inside long spacers to be frozen (but it's not so easy to try turn them around from underneath) as well as that bloody burned out LH bearing!...
thanks again for thinking about my deep trouble!...

Remove the track fram which involves removing the 6 bolts depicted in my photo and the bolts underneath. Now, instead of trying to pull it off the shaft, why not heat the cast iron piece and then put a plumbers wrench on it with a 6 foot cheater bar and try to rotate it on the shaft as it should in typical operation. Also, check the inside section, where the diagonal bracket attaches as this may or may not be frozen. Once you get it moving, then you can try to "pull" it off the shaft, or just leave it on the shaft if you get the desired motion.

Matt

Replied by frenchcat on topic frozen track beam bearing
Good idea Catmatt, It must be probably good sense to try rotate it around the shaft than pull it out (even I already tried that way by presure on the front track beam whitout succes and the risk to bend the shaft end down!...). I just need to buy the proper large plumbers wrench to grip the bearing and try again that way, probably with the help of a larger torch I previously used.
Concerning twin diagonal bracket internal bearings they are not frozen.
Meanwhile, the two internal spacers are still sticked to the shaft so I will then apply similar treatment: rotating them with the large plumer wrench.
Actually, I can only visit my Ten on some saturdays, even sundays, so it will take some weeks more to progress on that tricky job!...
thanks

If you remove the main spring you can use a floor jack under the front of the track frame and get plenty of twisting action, no big wrench needed as it might bind or mar the casting
