I think that it even has the correct mag with the correct impulse on it. The mag is an Eisemann G4 2nd edition and it looks like it has the early IS2 impulse on it instead of the more commonly seen IS5.

Naylorbros, yes it’s the original mag. Still has strong spark too. Impulse turns over nice and sharp and the spark advance/retard lever is really smooth.

juiceman, the original color should be the cat gray for your 2 ton I believe. I think they look better in gray, rather than green which is what the early holts were, but green is kinda cool. I don’t know enough to know why the models were light gray, or why some tractors were light gray. The only thing I can think of is late holt producing the ton series in Stockton was light gray, but the move to Peoria changed to dark in 24/25. The transition was kind of a mix match of parts left over. Probably the same with paint too. Some were light gray from the 5/10 ton tractors and when they ran out, they might of moved to the darker gray we all know and love.

SCCM: Thanks for the color... I will worry about that part last, after I have it running. If I end up buying machines for parts, I can let you know what is leftover in case you need anything.
Congrats on your new acquisition, its always exciting to buy from online auctions. Keep us all posted. JM

No problem. I have a soft spot in my heart for the two ton. Holt or cat. When I was about 3 weeks old, my dad took me on my first tractor recon mission, which was a cat two ton. I’ll be documenting progress as it happens for sure
