Track roller grease ? was created by GrantJ
I have finally run out of my fathers supply of track roller grease. I have not noticed any for sale at any of the places that I shop at. Maybe I have just missed it.  What brand and what is the proper name to ask for? Any supplier recommended?                             Thanks.  Grant.

00 track lube. Contact your local petroleum vendor and request a tub/pail of it. Not exactly a common item anymore. Your JD dealer might sell some in tubes called "Cornhead" lube also. Same consistency so I am told. If you are desperate enough, I might have some left in a Chevron pail you are most welcome to. JM

JM, thanks for the kind offer. I have a petroleum dealer in Lakeport that is only 15 minutes away so I will try there. Of course, I might just use grease as an excuse to drive up and see all of your toys. I cleaned some contaminated grease out of a track roller pump and WOW, is that stuff ever sticky. At least now I know what to ask for. Grant.

Tractor supply has it in quarts for $5-6. I asked local petroleum dealer and he would have to order it and would be north of $150 for 5 gallons. I remember when I was kid I paid $35 and it lasted many years.

I got a 5 gallon pale from my local Cheveron dealer this past summer. Just ask for type 00 grease. Cornhead grease is available in tubes from any Case IH, New Hollland l, or John Deere dealer

Do you have a part # for 5 gallons from or quarts Case? I work at a dealer and I can only find part #s for 55 gallon drums of the 00 and the grease gun tubes.  We used to be able to get quarts, gallons and 5 gallon buckets years ago but from what I can find all for those part numbers are NLA.  They sold it as ag lubricant or cotton picker lubricant.  I would love to be able to buy the stuff at work instead of having to drive 40 miles to get it.

If it’s the same or as good I prefer the corn head grease in tubes. Reason is I already have the grease gun. Be expensive to go out and buy the grease pump. Or really inconvenient to suck it up in a gun, and I imagine it would ooze badly also. Mike Hudson
