I had one pony on a 1/4 turn valve and inline filter worked good. The hardest part was finding a small 1/4 turn valve. It was a normal looking gas tank but the outlet was wrong to use the standard settlement bowl on D6 U series pony.

there is not enough restriction to worry about. provided you fuel cap vents as it should. a trick is to loosen the cap. we found starting was easier is a bit of fresh fuel was added to the tank any way to boost the octane up again. the petrol you buy today is just rubbish and looses its bang quickly because the volatile fraction evaporates so easily. especially in subtropical Queensland.

My original D2 and my latest auction buy D4 have had factory fuel lines with the secondary valve on left side. I have always found it necessary to blow in tank to pressurize to prime pony. Due to non availability of original settlement bowl I am going to set up with inline filter.

Use the recreation gas or non ethanol, fuel system stays clean and engines always start right up.

8C 261, there is a screen in the valve on the left side if its factory. I have had to take the valve apart several times to clean it out.
