Somewhere just West of Melbourne I have been told there is a 13A fitted with a D337, it was supposedly supplied new to the PMG department.

Hi Wombat. There were two D7 dozers that had a DW 21 motor fitted to them for PMG or Telecom. I saw one near Horsham and i think it is in Hawkesdale now. It was converted by William Adam’s in Clayton ,Melbourne.

Hi, ChrisE.
Same message for you as for Wombat. We need an SAS photo recon mission to check those beasts out and get evidence of them back here to Ancient Cat HQ for the assembled Intel people to check out.
Who knows? There may be a future reclamation operation needed from Chapter 19. (I'm good at spending O.P. money. Just ask Santa Margarita Ranch.)

The High Output D8 was a Caterpillar Dealer update, the rpm and rack setting were increased a vibration dampener was installed along with hardened valve seat inserts and valve rotators. A special oil pump and pickup tubes were added. Some changes were also made with the steering clutches and the transmission.

Hi, ROME K/G.
I was under the impression that the Hi-output D8 was a Sheperd dealer modification. On page 1 of this thread, post #250928, bruce oz put forward the notion that Cat had adopted the Sheperd upgrade and called it the Pusher D8.

Hi, D4Jim.
As I understand it, the Sheperd version had twin exhaust stacks and twin air pre-cleaner intakes above the hood - dunno about the Cat version.
