I would have thought some of those big collectors with deep pockets and pristeen tractors parked in fancy showrooms would have bought up all those parts, but oh well.

Less than a handful of collectors did buy a good portion of the inventory. What their plans are is up to them. Some parts companies participated as well.
FP Smith in Suisun, CA might be your closest bet on getting some parts; CCB Capitol Clutch and Brake has always been a trusted place for friction items; one of the counter guys, "BT" (just an FYI) is a pretty seasoned and calm person to speak to. Best wishes on your repair. JM

Another correction! The Fafnir throwout bearing number is a cross reference from Cat # 4B3665. I thought that I had been sent the Fafnir but Florin sent me a 4B3665.

I just got my wheel tractor running , so it is back to working on the 22 Its all fun.

I picked up a new throwout bearing which to my eye is a regular ball bearing, not an angular contact or whatever one calls a "true" throwout bearing as would be found in a car for example. I presume it's just what was available back in the '30s.

Yes the bearing looks like a standard bearing that should be available from any bearing house. I dont think that Florin charged very much for it.

I got it from Florin but given its spec, it could probably be obtained anywhere

there was a post quite a time back with a table that had cross reference info for many bearings and seals to hyatt and timken part numbers as they are 2 of the suppliers used by cat way back when.
