I then after looking have the dry clutch, do you have any suggestions as to ways maybe to get clutch to release. I know thanks to all you guys to put dozer gear in neutral. Will I need to take all covering off over clutch and then?

Garry,
If you have a close look at the cover you may have a split cover just over the clutch compartment, this is where the serial number comes in if you see 5he attached image it will show you where to find the serial number,

if its a dry type the is a small rectaglish cover over the clutch compartment. if you remove that you can get acess to adjust the clutch and give the throwout mechanisim a squirt of penertrating oil. only oil the mechanisim dont get it on the clutch plate itself.

i would also replace the wick in the oil cup you should be able to get some from any good industrial or bearing supplier. abit of google search found a listing with mcmaster-carr for wool felt wicks in a few different shapes and sizes and grades.

you can also make your own with some pure worsted wool (raid nanna's knittin basket. make sure its pure wool) and some fine copper wire wrapped in a spiral to give it some support it doesnt need to be very long it only has to carry oil into the pipe which then drips into the funnel that then lubes the yoke assembly. most of the length is in the oil cup not the tube.

the strand off a cotton mop would also work

we always filled the cup and gave small squirt down the tube itself so it always got some oil.

pour some kerosene down the oil cup to clean it and check it does flow into that funnel it may be blocked with crud. the oil viscosity grade doest matter much with this as long as its getting some oil.

I've had several machines that had sticky clutches that wouldn't release when they were cold. I think what happened was the pilot bearing was overgreased and would stick to the flywheel. My cure was to dump a gallon or so of diesel into the housing, work the clutch lever, turn the engine 1/4 of a turn, work the clutch lever some more, turn engine, move movement on the lever, etc. After a bit I could hear the clutch "clunk" as it came loose. Then it was time to drain the diesel, add more and give the clutch a wash per the book. That took care of the problem.

Just something else you might try if you haven't already
