Both of those years would put it in the 2U build era - 1945 - '53 - and the 2Us got the hard nose in 1950 if my understanding is correct. There were also quite a 1H through 13A D8s had their 'elephant ears' cut off and the hoods narrowed at the rear, not unlike yours has had but without the turbo added.

That firewall could almost be from a 14A series machine.
