There are some ACMOC chapters that are dual chapters and are affiliated with HCEA. Could they have made a donation and just not included the chapter number ??

It is stated in the latest HCEA magazine. My guess is that it is a chapter like earlier stated. Possibly just to stir the pot even. Seems to be alot of that lately which is quite sad.

There is nothing in my post that is not factually correct.

Attached are scans from Equipment Echoes.

As in the past, much of what this organization (?) does is done in secret. I do not know what the open meeting laws are in whatever state has jurisdiction over the Club, but having more than one set of Board meeting minutes for anything other than personnel matters is not allowed.

If you guys want to talk about stirring up shit, maybe you ought to look in the mirror.

I called HCEA and the donation was made by a member apparently on behalf of the Club. Why, I cannot explain but I will get in touch with the member before revealing his name.

Like I said, the club has made no donation to any other organization including HCEA.

Wrong-

The listings in bold print are donations received from October 13, 2022 through January, 2023.

I don't have a "beef" with anybody - just asked for an explanation.

why didnt that person make a personal donation to heca?

Its possible he made it on behalf of his chapter, and that was lost in translation.perhaps in the interest of brevity the chapter bit was left off the end when the typesetting layout was done. theres a lot of info on that page!
this is a tricky thing chapters are clubs in thier own right.

when we founded the old machinery club i used to be part of we started as a branch of another club we were incorporated in our own right with our own management committee and the parent club were not responsible for us. this is actually one of the issues the directors are trying to solve right now.

What is wrong with the answer Kurt posted? He did a good job of answering to the best of his knowledge. He is trying to get more knowledge in order to give a more specific answer.

Hello, willwingo.
Can you power down and let Kurt see what he can find out about it before you go posting, "Wrong", especially AFTER Kurt had posted that he will look into it?

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Maybe it was an error or they got the wrong person or business.  I donate without being acknowledged to many nonprofits, maybe the person you mentioned does not want to be announced also?  Nonprofits and businesses walk a thin line digging into personal information of others legally; could open up a can of worms and legal issues that's for sure for many parties. I hope the call to the person asking to share their name given by the receiver was approved by the donor to be given to you and is well received and does not lead to a legal concern being made public! There are laws of sharing peoples personal information that is certain. Who knows that person might be a supporter of ACMOC and donate and support the club but now choose not to going forward.  It's none of my business but not sure this is the way to resolve the question either.

trainzkid88 - I  am not sure on how the club is responsible for the chapter as some / many have their own management committee, turn in statements for tax purposes, purchase insurance, provide additional insurance to members, have coverage under another organized show, follow the required safety insurance requirements, are part of other organizations, have the club attached to their bank account and insurance as required, and already tried to become a contract chapter.  Not every chapter is the same.  I will say no matter what there is limited responsibility, you never escape that in life.  The chapters support the club's mission and goals, it was to help support, maintain members, and the hobby.  We have been down this road in the past with chapters and the club on several different fronts, and some with more liability and lost many members.  The tricky part is what is beyond all that, many do not see that are not active in a chapter.  Sadly the costs and time invested already is above what the chapter can budget so it will be the chapter members having to flip the bill for the clubs decision or donations by sponsors to become a nonprofit I would assume. Guess we will see what happens once the National Show is over as it seems we are waiting on that domino to fall.  In the recent board minutes 2/27/2023 "it is mentioned by Kurt they are moving forward with sending a letter to all chapter leaders stating on a given date that ACMOC is ending affiliation with subsidiary chapters, and can apply to new contract in future as it will have no effect on membership in club".  I assume the chapter committee was dissolved after one meeting months ago by seeing the board minutes, after previously being told it was on hold till May.  Maybe the letter will show up in the mail soon or has been mailed out already?  Maybe we will get a clear idea on things as for what is happening spelled on all points involving the chapters including beyond just insurance as noted and not causing a legal nightmare to come?  Our chapter membership has already been cut in half due to renewing issues, no magazine received, or tired of the chapter drama.

To the board,  I welcome a board member to attend our upcoming annual meal and meeting to explain the direction of club in transparent communications to the members of the club and chapter, donation givers, scholarship donors, other chapters, and volunteers.  It has been mentioned in another meeting some concerns and answers were given to the members was possibly helpful.  Reach out if you are interested in attending, retaining and getting back members, and ensuring donors and givers their support is continued in future!

Ryan
