I am trying to locate a new or good used cutting edge for my 922B Cat loader. There seem to be a lot of cheap or poorly made blades out there that just don't seem like that worth the investment, not to mention I had friend who bought one of these blades thinking he would save money. Not only only did the blade not fit right but the mounting holes were off by 1/2"-/3/4" making it impossible to install right out the gate. ( all but 1 bolt that came with the install hardware kit broke after a couple weeks) The loader doesn't see any tough/demanding work day in day out making is hard to justify the blade cost only CAT. If any one might have some info or could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Also the blade had been flipped a couple times seeing how it's a reversible cutting edge but neither side has any life left it. When it comes to the blade I'm not picky, it doesn't have to be an OEM CAT style blade only one that fits and does its job. ( P.S I also need to track down new mounting hardware also ) Last but not least, does anyone have a PDF downloadable service manual for this year car? I spent $75 a couple of years ago to buy an original sercive/parts manual on ebay and it turned out to be nothing more than photocopies of an original manual that was done so poorly that pages were numerically missing, the ink was so light it was barely legible, and any pictures within the manual resembled that of a ( supposed trail cam pic of sasquatch in thick woods from a 100yds away ) You were unable to discern anything. If you have any resources that may help please this way and help me out.  Thanks again, Dan

It might help us to help you if you told us where you live. There's not much point in a West Coaster recommending their supplier if you live in the backwoods of Maine or down in the Florida Keys.

That said though, a Cat dealer should be able to set you up with a cutting edge - for a Cat-sized fee.

I live in Barre, MA which is almost dead center in the state of Massachusetts, I am having a hard time justifying a new bucket cutting blade from the dealer for the simple reason the loader is a 1965-1966  and it's run very little each year, and the the dealership is gonna tell me to bend over as soon as come in the door so they can screw me. I was really looking for a good used blade as a brand-new one isn't needed. I am only using it to plow snow on a gravel road and also to clean up and grade the road every so often. If you know anyone with a service manual please send them this way, I had gotten a complete downloadable PDF manual about a year ago but lost it when my computer died, I attempted to reach out to the guy that gave it to me but it appears he is no longer an active member.  Thanks, Dan

Try doing a search for a "Ground engaging tools supplier" or 'cutting edge supplier", give them the total length of your cutting edge, what you think would have been the unworn width and thickness of yours and the bolt spacing and number of bolts and they should be able set you up with a replacement, including the bolts.

I don't have any local knowledge of suppliers in your area as I am on the West Coast.

if it takes the recessed tapered heads with square on them they are called plough bolts any good bolt shop should have them. you wont know the cost till you ask so give your dealer a call. never know they might even have a used edge in the scrap pile thats got some life left.

if you still have room left to your frog (edge of bucket) and you are handy with a cutting torch you can just recut a bevel on the cutting edge as it doesn't sound like you'll be warring it out.

on the same token couldnt you get some high grade plate such as bisalloy and make one.

trainzkid88 most people don't have the tools required to make the square counter sunk holes for the plow bolts to hold the cutting edge on. plus trying to buy a strip of still 8 feet long and 8 inch wide (2.5M x 200mm) would not be very easy or cost effective in my part of the world. in the end you would still need to cut a bevel on the new plate any ways. re beveling will also save the cost of a set of plow bolts. i would love to watch someone drill some holes in hard X plate with out anything special.
