to have a full set of book is very nice. yours is of similar vintage to our 6u. the L shape bleeder spanner apparently are rare as hens teeth so dont lone it to any one. i do have the service manual for the engine itself. but win some lose some. and heres a tip get rain flaps for the exhuasts particularly the pilot engine or it will rust out and dust the main. and a good idea to make a couple of wedges to support the pilot's flywheel when its not running as it can walk through the bearings well a old cane farmer and bush engineer told me both of those things and cecil would know sadly he's no longer with us.

Thanks for the tips!
The fellow whom I bought it from (he's now 72) said although it lived most of it's life in a shed when not in use, when the main was rebuilt in 1969 they found a lot of dirt and rust in the inlet manifold - probably accelerated the need for a rebuild. Anyway, they decided the pony exhaust was the culprit, so a field mod was to weld a piece of water pipe with a screw cap on it to form a dust seal. The main exhaust had a coffee tin to keep out the weather, which I've replaced with a rain cap but it looks too shiny...for now.

that works though if you forget a tin it just blows off. and a muffler off a 5hp briggs and stratton make a difference to the noise of the pilot. you can actually stand beside it and here your self think. otherwise it will deafen you.

Very nice original 6U! I noticed it still has the factory trip-rope clip on the side of the seat, just above the square patent tag - those are usually long-gone.

Wow, good spot! All about the details. That’s why I love your walk around videos, always pointing out stuff I’d never see..
