Important Organizational Announcement

With mixed emotion, on November 14, 2022 the Board of Directors accepted John Gaunt’s resignation as president of ACMOC. The silver lining in John’s resignation is that he will continue as a valued Director and as head of the Web Tech committee, two roles that are essential, and we are fortunate to have occupied by such a capable individual.  John has been both the driver and implementer in getting the technical library going and wants to devote more time to grow and improve this very valuable resource that members use, and have waited many years for.

John’s decision was not easily taken, however, he felt that it was in the interest of the club. John’s work, given the circumstances, set a standard of dedication we can all aspire to and certainly appreciate.

In the same meeting, I was elected as the Club’s president and two new directors were appointed. I am pleased to announce that Ed Coughlin and Jen Ming Gee were both appointed to the ACMOC Board of Directors. Mr. Gee and Mr. Coughlin have both been long-time contributors to the Club with their time, talent, and resources, we are very fortunate to have people of such integrity, capability, and experience on our board. Please join me in welcoming them.

Keep your eye especially on the forum, we will deliver news there first as we get to work doing the Club’s business.

I am looking forward to getting to know you better and very excited that together we can build a stronger club with a bright future.

With Warm Regards,

Kurt Bangert

Hi, FrogHairFarm.
I sorta suspected that John may possibly resign - for reasons which I will let others divulge if they feel it is important to do so. I thank him for his service and I am pleased that he is staying on as a director and is continuing to work on those committees.

I am also pleased to hear about the 2 new appointments. I have not had much to do with Ed Coughlin but have heard NOTHING but good about him from others. I have had a bit to do with Jen Ming Gee over the past few years and have always found him to be a straight shooter. (Heck, he's even been known to hit what he aimed at - - - occasionally. LOL.)

Welkum too ther Board, Folks. Guard your hair carefully lest some people have you tearing out in tufts.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Thanks Deas! I would like to say that as you consider your ballot, please consider that John Gaunt has done a lot for this club. If you use the library, thank John. No one else put that work in and it is a real asset to the Club, John is worthy of your vote.

Otherwise, Ed and Gee are top quality Directors and the Club will be better off for their efforts.

A new very capable president and two excellent choices for directors. All are dedicated to a better club. Glad John is staying on as a director as he has contributed so much and will continue to be a valuable member to our club.

The sabotaging sixteen threw a hand grenade in our midst but the club will survive and prosper with great leadership. Now it is up to the members to assist the BOD to accomplish all the changes. They cannot do it alone. .

Jim! We will definitely get though this and be stronger for it. You can expect a lot of communications from me so that all members are informed of what the Board and committees are doing.

I have already had members reaching out with offers to help and helpful suggestions.

so john decided to step down. time is possibly a factor. i can understand if he felt he couldnt devote enough time to be president and serve on the web tech committee and keep expanding the library as-well as what he does with his local club.

theres only so many hrs in the day. and we are all volunteers so thanks for what you can give.

kurt i wish you and the new directors success in leading the club to new things

Thank you all for the kind words, but I’m not going to take all the credit for the Library. Ryan at AdCo created the environment for us and Neil Paku and Tony Johnson have put in many hours of work formatting and loading documents, a real team effort.

This is an interesting development .........why did these two members not submit their names on a ballot to be voted on when there were vacancies available this past year........

Have a good day.....Bill Martin

Bill, what you see here is a BoD working in accordance with the Club bylaws to ensure the Club is properly guided. We are fortunate that we have two experienced, involved, new directors of quality and integrity. My view (and I hope that of many others) is that this should be celebrated.

Your question could be asked of all members, since only one member put their name in the hat, and I am sure the answers are varied.

The sabotaging sixteen are still using the foxhole approach to running the club. Stay unseen in the foxhole and every now and then pop their head out to unleash another salvo and then duck back down in the foxhole., Absolutely pathetic behavior by sowing discord and doing nothing to help the club.
