I am pulling the engine next week to add a ring gear for electric start. I want to change out the pilot bearing, throwout bearing and clutch disc while it is apart. I am going to call Florin Tractor (I think they are still open) but can anyone suggest other sources that might have parts for the 22? Thanks, Grant.

I replaced the clutch/pressure plate and T/O bearing my my Cat 22 back in 1990 and sourced the parts from a shop in West Sacramento, CA that specialized in heavy duty clutches and brakes.
Hopefully if Florin does not pan out, you can find a clutch and brake shop near you.
FYI - You may want to check the clutch linkage and pivot shaft for slop. I had to have a weld shop weld mine up to remove the slop.

Im about to call Florin and see what they have. I think the disc can be relined if none are available but the pilot bearing seems to be a roller bearing and that is not common. The throwout bearing is also a roller or ball bearing but that is more common so is probably available. I will definitely check for slop in the linkage. Everything is working fine now but I will replace what I can so I dont
later regret not doing it ..

Progress!, I have a throwout bearing coming from Florin ($35+shipping) which I think is very reasonable and I just talked to "Capital Clutch and Brake" in Sacramento who will reline a clutch disc for between $65 and $115 depending on the size. That also sounds like a good price. Depending on the condition of the disc, I may or may not have it relined. Wont know until I pull it. Now if I can find a pilot bearing I will be more comfortable pulling it apart. I hate the thought of pulling the engine and having to wait days or weeks for a part. I am still open to hearing about any other possible parts source. Thanks, Grant.

Bruce, Thanks for reminding me. I had not even thought of it. I will call Florin again tomorrow and see about the clutch brake. OOPs, I just tried to look up the clutch brake and can not find it in the 22 parts book. Because there is no service manual for a 22, I have a 15 service manual that shows how to adjust the clutch brake. I have been told that most of the 22 and 15 are the same, but I dont have a 15 parts manual. Am I looking in the wrong section in the 22 parts book ???
Just another confusing moment. Grant.

Grant,
Look in the 22 parts book at the transmission showing the gears from the side view for your serial number. I think what you are looking for--the clutch brake--is V-129 disc or facing. It is part of V-407 flange assembly.

I will look in my parts book when I get up to the ranch. I may have to call Florin again today. At this point I am just hoping that my pilot bearing is good because Florin checked every dealer that they are tied into and said not available. Everything about my clutch works fine but I think I should replace whatever that I can so I dont have to pull the engine again at some later date. Thank you Bruce. The help on this forum is wonderful. Grant. I just saw Peters post also. Another big thanks
