Neil: That D4E originally came from California, and was used in the Gilroy area. JM

Still waiting for a D8LSA to come up over this way - never going to happen I'm sure. The guy that sold one last year that you pointed me to in the Ag Trader was making noises about sending me photos and video but never did sadly. Would have been awesome to see that pulling wide implements across the fields

Cheers,

I keep thinking the Finch Ranch, located in Orland, CA has/had a D8L SA. I can ask the ex daughter in law if she knows. She is more into big diesel trucks than tractors, but that is another story. JM

Hello. We have gone old school with ground prep for the Lima beans. The D4E came out of the barn and the drags and springtooth harrows out of hibernation. It’s fun to be farming old school.

Neat one. Mine could be a twin to yours, except for the seat! Tell us some more about your tractor please. D4E 70X? VHP? JM

Yes the seat is wrong. The original fell apart. Currently it has an inexpensive aftermarket seat that works for now. It is serial number 29X630. I bought it from Quinn around 1998. I’ve heard stories that originally the 29X wasn’t turbocharged but dealers upgraded them due to customer complaints. I can see on the underside of the hood that the muffler hole has been relocated. Any merits to this story?

I remember that tractor when it was for sale out of Santa Maria . Larry Silva at at Quinn Santa Maria told me about it . Talley Farms owned it . They did a lot of work to it . I still have the paper work on that tractor from Quinn
