Nah it's not your computer, there's still kinks to work out of this forum software.

Mike, I searched for a bunch of variants and when I used "oil pan gasket", I found "D4 7J oil pan gasket numbers" which you had posted to, which contains that exact string. I've found the trick with searching when I don't know the exact title is to keep trying a bunch of variations, getting simpler and smaller and eventually somethign turns up

Glad to hear it's not my puter Neil, I did try simpler and simpler searches, when it gave me nothing for "D4 gaskets" after my more refined "D4400 oil pan gasket" and "D4 7J sump gasket" and "D4 sump gasket" I knew I might as well quit before I got the ol over and under 12 gauge and ventilated my puter screen..... LOL

I'd forgotten I went down this exact same path a couple of years ago trying to find Stephen Sarkanys original thread about making Cat 30 valves

Hello:
I believe that we used D8 valves with some modifications. Used valves were sourced from a cylinder head rebuilder. The valve heads were machined with carbide tooling without much fuss and new keeper grooves were cut with a carbide radius tool. I believe that the radius tool was 5/32". . .
