D2 pony pinion gear worn

Picked up a used pinion gear from Dana. A tighter fit than the current one but I'm curious whether the GG gear would be snugger still. The other part of it is the sleeve has some movement on the pinion gear boss. I'll talk to my guy about snugging that down. I "could" try shrinking the sleeve but the issue is more that the sleeve is more worn at the very ends of where the gear is installed, which means if I shrink the portion in between those two places, the gear will be hard in slide in. What I really need is to build the worn pieces back up. I'm not going to even contemplate what a new sleeve would cost give that Cat want 800 clams for the gear, and I'm sure my guy could spray and turn the sleeve much more affordably. Anyway, I'm not going to reassemble until I have that part figured out because I do NOT want this dingdong coming apart again - it gets real old quickly....

Cheers,
Neil
