What is the purpose of creating those furrows next to the apple trees? Is it to enhance moisture absorption, weed control, or something else?

Cheers,

Flood irrigation I take it Mike? I think they've moved to drip irrigation these days as it's more efficient?

Cheers,

WEWOKA, OKLAHOMA
Airplanes, “Caterpillar” tractors and asbestos-covered nitro glycerine charges were used here in putting out a big burning oil and gas well fire.
The Kinley Brothers have a reputation for stopping wild oil or gas well fires but this one had them stumped for a time. After the second shot failed an airplane was dispatched to Tulsa for more gelatin to use in the shots and bigger charges were prepared.
The Kinley’s directed over 100 workmen in handling tractors and other fire fighting equipment. Asbestos was wrapped around the explosives and they were fired by electricity.
