Hi Deebo,
at the Dealer anything under a D6 carrier roller was considered not economical to rebuild by the time labor and material costs were calculated.
I do not know if this would help or not but I do have an outside diameter for a later D4B sized carrier roller and it is given as 5.88" when unworn and as 5.38" at 100% worn.

Aah, interesting, thanks for the info Eddie. Makes sense I guess. I think I read somewhere about replacing 2T carrier rollers with D4D ones. I'll do some digging.

Tony, if you have access to a lathe it is easy to rebuild those top carrier rollers, I did my D4 2T using suitable sized pipe split in half, then welded to the roller, they look good. I'm not sure where our old threads have gone right now, but I did a thread on it at the time, it was May 2018 when I did it, there were photo's with the thread.

I've uploaded some photo's for you, we had to create new running faces for the seals too, and clean up the worn bronze bearings, it was a interesting project that didn't cost a lot of money at the time.

Thanks Mike, I was going to speak to a machinist friend about turning the shaft and new bushes. I see one bush is still available from CAT. I just wondered as the original shaft is hardened whether that would be easy to recreate. I’ll see what he says.. I’d love a lathe and mill, I’m keeping an eye out locally.. never enough tools..

Hi Alex,
 Eddie said “Non Current Undercarriage Dimensions as taken from a book Dated June 16 1964 by the Stoody Company Titled :- "Finish Dimensions for Rebuilding” Haven’t found a copy myself but I uploaded a pdf of the scans to the members Technical Library entitled “Track Component Reconditioning Dimensions” in case anyone needs them.

Hi Alex,
if you are referring to the written dimensions given in post No 222197 then they came from my Caterpillar "Custom Track Service Handbook"
Form No :- PEK 9400, 12th Edition, 1991.

Thanks everyone.  I find this incredibly frustrating.  The problem with all of this is that there is contradictory info all over the place.  I believe the 7U series had 5 different link height options over the years.  I was able to find the accurate link height from the CTS manual because I was able to search by the PN that was stamped on the link.  So the link height is the only solid piece of info I have.  All the other info is in generic charts that may or may not be right.  What i would give for a drawing of my rollers and idlers that would be linked to the PN.  I cant believe that the only info out there on these dimensions comes from a 3rd part welding manual.  If I am ever able to locate a new roller I will draw it in CAD and put it out there for everyone.  Those dimensions should apply to everyone with a 4 roller track frame SN 7U27570-7U43897.  Cat PN's 7F2466 for the double flange and 7F2465 for the single.  (if you look at the dims on the first page of this post is lists the link height as 3.53, the CTS manual which lists the PN says it should be 3.75)

Hi Team,
some more data that I have not double checked the dimension comparisons on, so I will leave it to you.
The link reclamation scans are from the Conservation Bulletins which are in the BB Library.
The PDF is a copy from the Custom Track Handbook I was lucky to gain.
