We use Cat Bolts and Hardware all the Time , Usually Cheaper than at the Local Store and of Course Higher Grade .I have a Couple of One safe source Books ,1 goes back to the sixties a chap who worked for cat in PNG gave Me . I know a Chap who Put a D8 together by Using the Cat reference Numbers. He got the D8 in Boxes from somewhere , So He refereed to the Manual and then the Parts Book to work Out the Correct Length Bolts , Big Job ,but He made it !! LJ

Going a bit off track, but Lances comment about cheaper :loco: kick the brain into a different gear.

I have had the same experience of Cat at least being no more costly if not cheaper. But others here on the board have complained about the high price of Cat hardware. But I do have a account at the dealer, even though they closed it for lack of use at one point(a parts man did something to get it back). Does this help the price,in the case of dealers not really wanting walk in business. So is this where the ACMOC could be able to help club members get a better price and help members keep the machine more original too.

Since some board members are on here: maybe if we as users would use the One Safe Source so we have a part number and code number the club could give out. A perc for membership and save time for the parts people by having a number that is current.
