I looked at the bid history after the sale and it was between two bidders that ran the price up.

I know it's been a few years since this thread, but I came across it while looking up something about my dad - Pete Refakis. I bought one of those hats on eBay for my son, Peter John Refakis, II (now 22). Dad co-owned the Ohio dealerships with Peter Holt in Cbus, Cinci, Toledo, Dayton, and Youngstown from 1985 to 1996. Dad and Holt had a difference of opinion and unfortunately Dad was out of the business after 1996... He went on to sit on the board of directors at HO Penn, the Cat dealer in NYC, until he passed away in 2012 from brain cancer. We miss him every day. He had Cat yellow blood until the day he died. - Mike Refakis
