That's crazy, although my wife paid $24000 for a Chevy hat but they threw in a free car

Wonder what makes it so special? Noticed several other Holt-Refakis caps for sale over $200 on eBay.
Two guys wanted it really bad I guess. Auction 133216716377
I have a denim RR cap for $15 if anyone interested!!

After Tim Barry of Barry Equipment, Columbus and Toledo closed, Holt and Refakis reopened the stores again. Pete Refakis was with Holt for only a few years left and was Holt for several years after, then went to Cleveland Brothers, now Ohio Cat from Cleveland. Years before all this the dealers for NW Ohio were The Taylor Tractor Co., Central Ohio Tractor, Ohio Machinery, then Barry Equipment.

Great info on the history of the Co on the Cap. Surprising the name Holt or Refakis are not mentioned in the title for the auction. The seller must not have known what he had.
Was the original Taylor Tractor Co part of the old Aultman-Taylor Co from somewhere in that area of Ohio? Somewhere in my files of photos I have a photo of an Aultman-Taylor plowing sod in about 1920 on my grandfathers original homestead.
Can't believe $1000 for a cap.

I'm not sure about Aultman-Taylor but they were from Mansfield, North Central Ohio.

A few years back eBay sellers and buyers were involved in a money laundering business. At that time a seller would put something on eBay at a ridiculous high price like a model airplane (worth $20) and it would have a buy it now price of $4,785. Maybe this is the latest variation.
EBay wouldn't admit to it at first but finally acknowledged it had been going on for some time.
