You are correct about being grateful Juice man. I am grateful for all of the friends I have made in the ACMOC community. The list goes on and on about all of the kind things we all do for each other. It is cool to go around the country and attend shows, meet new people and make new friends.

Hey Crawler Dollars . I have a 08 Duramax with Allison and love it . Only problem I have had with is the turbo clamp has come lose a couple of times. I pull my 5U around with it on a bumper hitch trailer works great. I have made numerous trips over Chirroco Summit on the way to the river pulling a 28ft pontoon Boat.As far as pulling Hwy 58 to Tehachapi. That is one hard pull. When I’m going over 58 with the 9axle usther direction the temps are always pegged to the max. When heading east on 58 out of Bakersfield that’s pretty treacherous. To keep the engine oil temp down I have to almost lug the Cat to keep the oil temp within operating range. Same with coming west the retarder will heat the engine oil up in no time just got to take it slow and easy. That is one of the hills I hate pulling. Even at grossing 250,000 pounds the grapevine is a piece of cake. The Duramax engines rule

Hi, D4e.
It was just a comment, not directed at any one person. Topic drift is a VERY common occurrence on this BB and on MANY others that I have visited and I have been guilty of it myself from time to time. That said though, it still does surprise me at times just how far off topic some discussions manage to get, how quickly they manage to do it and the directions they take.
And Juiceman is still no closer to getting his pretty K-rail from the bottom of that heap delivered to his farm, complete with a tow truck. Or was it a hook truck?
Just my 0.02.

Interesting comments about the Chevrolet DuraMax, My 93 Ford Camry is getting up there in miles and I’m thinking about getting a truck, I’ve always had ford automobiles so I’m a bit partial to ford. What are the pros & cons between the DuraMax and the Ford Diesel engine ? Longevity, mileage & horsepower etc. I have heard that Dodge has a good Diesel engine also, but the cabs have issues Thanks G.C.

My understanding is that, currently, all three have good engines, which wasn't always the case, at least for Ford. I have the 6.0 which is reputedly the worst diesel Ford put out recently (I haven't had any problems with it luckily) but I've heard nothing but good things about the current 6.7.
If you want a stick, only Dodge offers that at least in one ton size pickups.
Cheers,

Crawler$$$. I’d like the pretty one on the bottom please. Could you pay the man $75 and deliver it to me too please? If you help unload it, you can buy me lunch too........
Okay Gee, all loaded up...ended up grabbing 3 of the prettiest
![ ](/media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png)
ones, would have grabbed one more but the tires on my trailer said that was enough. The mighty Duramax
![ ](/media/kunena/emoticons/rockon.gif)
pulled it no sweat. Let me know when you'll be available to offload them and I'll head out.

Thank you C$ for the K RAILS. I’m happy that your pickup can haul the heavy K RAILS. I am a happy man knowing that you were kind enough to help me acquire some K RAILS. Your actions speak more than words.
Much appreciated, thanks again for the K RAILS. JM
