The bottom of my engine was good, we polished the crank and cam and put it back togather, removed a shim or 2 based on the plastigage, I think my engine was a low hour unit, most of the damage was weather related from sitting for 30 years with no spark plugs

That's what I had to deal with before on cranks Steve. For all the amount we use these things, It just doesn't make sense to get too involved if the journals are only say, .0025'' out of round and maybe a little scored, the babbet takes care of that. But of course rusted is a different story!

drujinin,

Hastings has a huge data base. But not by Brand. You need to know the cylinder bore, the ring groove depth and width. They can then attempt to match you up something.

For a standard bore TEN: Hasting Part Numbers

Oil Ring 27382 (2 each)
Compression Ring 35464 (2 each)

I'd have to go back and look but I'm pretty sure I didn't pay more than $35 for the whole set from Hastings.

I used NAPA valves for a Chevrolet too. Only had to shorten them a bit and regrind them to fit. Because they have larger diameter stems, I only had to ream the original guides and all worked very well. The valves were cheap too...something like $10 each.

Replied by drujinin on topic Cool!
Thanks!
I was hoping that hard to find items like valves would be able to be substituted! I'll have to study the Hastings website some more. I have looked at it briefly a couple of times, just haven't had long enough time to go through it all.
