Well we survived Debbie ok it headed south a little bit in the last 24 hours
Cyclones are like a Hurricane but spin the other direction because they are in the southern hemisphere like water down the plug hole in the bath tub
As such everything north west of the center is a lot weaker as the energy was lost on the southern side I assume its the opposite in the northern hemisphere
So after all the rain further south and the rain thats falling in land as well from the cyclone we are gunna get flooded tonight for I dont know how long as almost all the rivers that were affected by the cyclone flow into the Burdekin river and Rita island is in the mouth of the Burdekin

Hi, MrsMP.
Glad to hear that you survived the big winds. Might be time to start growing little bits of skin between your toes. Or start building the Burdekin dam a bit higher. Maybe we could make it a Chapter 18 play day?
Stay safe, M8.
Just my 0.02.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

It was good to see you on line and we am very happy to hear that you came thru the storm intact. Hope all goes as well with your expected flooding. Also hope those still getting hit come out OK as the storm moves along.

Some updates on cyclone Debbie.
Debbie gave people up north a good blow, with much damage along the coast .
On moving inland turned into a tropical low.
Who would have thought it would move so quickly 1300 km south to near where we are .
After a humid cloudy day yesterday started raining here about midnight and is still raining 20 hours later.
No wind here though.
How are others fairing.
Some photos of water through our property.

Hi, Andrew.
It started raining here about 4.30 yesterday PM, just showers at first but settled in to steady rain about 6-ish and kept it up all night with the occasional heavy downpour. It's been non-stop all day today in pretty much the same way. I saw a couple of magpies out feeding this morning. They were wearing gumboots.. And there are a couple of plovers that have made makeshift shelters of wheat bags turned half inside out and placed over there heads, a bit like a large hessian 'sou-wester'.
I went to cut my toenails this evening and there appears to be bits of extra skin growing between the toes. Any idea what that might be?
Just my 0.02.

Well word is around the island another blow is building up dunno how true this older and wiser people than me told me this this morning
Choppers flying all day to Bowen and back
And I might add these same people told me about Debbie before the BOM people even mentioned it
maybe they can feel it in their old bones
bright and sunny all day muggy as all get out still more rain coming though I feel and the ocean is as hot as all get out so these older and wiser people may well right

Has moved far south, northern NSW copping lots of rain, just read the news they are expecting 3m (10') of water in the CBD of Lismore.
My thoughts are with all those who are under or at risk of flooding.

Yep, over the last 10 days we have gone from 35c day and 22c night temperatures to 20c day and 4c night temperatures. Don't know what has happened to Autumn and Spring, we now only seem to have Summer and Winter.
The Dragon Lady will be on my case to cut firewood and light the slow combustion heater before I know it. There was a time when she would asked me to light her fire, mmmmmmm, not nowdays.
