It's nice to have a few Big Dogs although they are CAT's in the U.K. all credit to Bostonpowercat this little outfit has taken some years of effort and resolve to get to this point, you need a lot of steam under your belt to tackle projects of the size of 666's followed by Quad 9's, this is the first Quad 9 ever in the U.K.

p.s. I wonder what is planned for the next set up???

Great job Bostonpowercat. I agree with TC, hats of for tackling big (and expensive) projects like these and seeing them thru to the end. I to look forward to seeing them working togather and hopefully some day see them in person.

Hi, Bostonpowercat.
I have been led to understand that the DD9s were built up from pairs of tractors with consecutive serial #s - i.e. 66A3611 and 66A3512. I would imagine that any of the DD9 coupling and control paraphernalia that you managed to salvage from Agristruction's yard would have been original, either from Buster's original builds or from later Cat builds.

Original or not, congratulations to both you and Tony for your magnificent efforts on both the 666 and the DD9G - and for having the first of each of them in Britain. Great stuff.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Thank you, yes it has been a long haul getting through this project that's for sure, but it's nice to see it finally complete, as for what's next all I can say is, a very long holiday, I don't want to see another air hose or control valve for a long time :D

Cheers

Hey bostonpowercat,

Where are you located? I am sure you are aware you can add that info in you profile.

Walt

We are from the UK, I hadn't thought about putting the location in the profile, will get that sorted, thanks for the heads up:thumb:

Thank you,
Yes there will be some more footage and information to come especially as we are starting to see a bit of sunny weather now!
As for seeing them in person that would be no problem at all, if you are ever planning a visit to the UK then definitely drop us a line, we had a guy recently take his first ever flight in a plane, he flew from Greece just to come and see the 666 !!

Thanks :thumb:
The drawbar has been heavily strengthed compared to a standard one as it was used to pull the huge "super ripper" that Agristruction/CollinCo used.
Yes your right they probably would have been consecutive serial numbers in the Quad's.

Hi Bostonpowercat,
Just thinking out loud. If this tandem setup was used to pull a ripper it may be wise to compare the connecting linkages with the ones that were designed and built as push Cats. I would hate to see the axles bent on the front D9 when used to push load the 666. The pull setup may or may not be the same as the push setup. 7Upuller can speak to what happens when a tandem push is applied with out the right setup on the front machine. Better safe than sorry.
