I had 2.5' stakes driven through the main four supports and bent around them. Granted the 55g barrels weigh 300+lbs but four stakes as deep as they were have done me right for three plus years but it was a gusty day yesterday. If the wind was blowing in it's normal direct the tent could have blown or rolled all the way to Gilroy.

Your place up on the hill is looking real good with the landscape being done. Also your new shop is look pretty good. Nice to see your cats have a dry place to stay. Did you ever get that rare unit up north you had mentioned to me a while back? I never did call that lady about the 20. She seamed a little interesting so I figrue its not meant to be.

Hey you must be imagining this, California always has sunshine and perfect weather:D Most people don't realise in California you can drive 20 - 30 miles and experince totally different weather.

You don't see too many barns around my familys place older than 30 - 40 years old. In either 2003 or 2004 my dad lost two of his 1960's vintage pole for barns for storing hay. It was amazing to see the roof tossed to the other side of the street and the telephone poles split in half like twigs. They also lost another enclosed haybarn on some leased land in a different storm that year. Since that barn sat on a seperate 1.5 acre subdivided parcle, the landlord sold the mess for as a ranchette homesite for $575,000 as is, in 2005 at the height of the housing boom.

The same night we lost one of the barns the roof on one side of my house ripped off right down to the plywood.

The Weather people are predicting 10 feet of snow in the Serrias this weekend, I wonder what kind of mess we wil see down here, better make sure everything is in order before this storm.

Greg, in Wisconsin we have alittle thing called concrete, works real well.!

All this talk about the wind blowing down covers and this morning I was heading out to my parrents house and about 1/2 mile down the road I see some industrial type galvanized roofing that looks a little too fimiliar, and I see tin spread all over the field, when I get to their house I see 6 poles standing where there was a small pole barn for my dads firewood pile and lawnmower are. And yes the poles are sitting perfectly stright in concrete, I am not suprized that the tin blew off, its the comercialy built trusses that had simson strong tie, huricane resistant connection plates that were shreded that amaze me. But when semi trucks are being blown on their sides, not much concrete in the world will help it.


Just heard on the news that a school's roof was completly blown off in Elk Grove, south of Sacramento.

All was well at the pump house this AM. I didn't see any evidence of the errant tent....
All (visable) evidence removed for protection of the innocent.

That pump house installation looks clean from the road.
