I started this thread on the buy/sell side. Thought I better move it over here. I got a set of pins and bushings to replace my old ones on my Ten from John Deere.
Pins M2559T Bushing M2259T. The origional links are Cat. The shop called me and said the bushings are .0019 too big. The said they are afraid to try and press them in fearing the links might break.Has anybody else had this problem? They said they might be able to bore the links, or turn down the bushings. Any ideas?? Comments?? Thanks, Mark

Cat TEN rails are made from forged steel, not cast. I have used that exact bushing in TEN rails. Press em and use em. Makes for a nice tight fit.

Mark,
I never have done what you are talking about, but I have heard about it being done several numerous times with success. Assuming you have the right JD parts, and links It should work well. What are the JD part numbers for the pin's and bushings? I have a regular set of cat tracks which i have to have lengthened by one link for a high ten, so i need two pins and two bushings.

jep masterpins will do, maybe with some grinding of the last link, as the masterpin of jd has a plate on the end and no wholes.also the jd pins and bushings are ok.

John Deere Pins M2559T
Bushings M2259T
Master Pin TE433yt
Snap ring 5787yt
The John Deere bushing measures 1.383
The old bushing measures 1.365
The difference is .018
If we break a link or two trying to press these bushings in, how plentyful are replacement links out there? Thanks Mark

Big difference between the 0.0019 oversize you first mentioned and 0.018.
At that kind of press fit you could break them all.
Are you sure those number are right?
