Hi highcrop 10,
I was told and think I read somewhere that the scraper jumping stunt man did not make it either in that safety film. Below is a scan from a Service Reporter article -- Issue 2 1965.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

That film is professionally made by stuntmen,it is not made by Cat,I have a copy of the original 16mm cine film and the details on the box just lists the stuntmen and that it was made in Hollywood,it does not make any reference to Cat,the event or the tractors,I've got loads of Cat archive films from the same era all made by Chicago Film Laboratories,I have that clip on DVD and have played it frame by frame, the first guy is not thrown he jumped,if thrown he would have gone over the engine, see the still from both stunts below, out of the seven machines that start seven finish, the sixty that came through the fake barn was minus its driver, both machine and driver can be seen again three times in the film (Well spotted Chugwater Crawlers),them sort of short film clips were made to show in cinemas between the two main programs back then to humour the audience.

AJ you had posted that over on the Heavy Equipment site some weeks back,it could be downloaded but I did not do it at the time. I have tried to get it again been reminded when I seen it here because it was bigger version than Youtube but the link is dead. Am I doing something wrong I would like to get a copy.

Andy not your fault, the link is dead, someone claimed that it infringed their copyright and Putfile removed it, that film lay in a box with a lot of other Cat related films from that era for over fifty years, when the old BB was going someone was asking about Vickers and I remembered my late father having the film of it, I found it and had it and the other films transferred to video and DVD,all have been posted here and on other sites, I doubt if I did not have them transferred and posted them for others to see that that copy would be on Youtube now, both the first and last couple of minutes are missing from my copy with the title and the credits, would have been some coincidence for two people to start and stop the film in the exact same places, I have taken the film off my PC now but will reload it again when I get a chance and put it on a host site that will play it back full screen, that film was shot at 18FPS and is been played back at 24FPS giving the illusion that everything is going 33% faster that it actually is.

Its sad to see the dealerships throwing away their old films, some are being transferred to DVD, when ours were being thrown out, I was told about it and rescued many, so in my my collection, I do have 'The Roll of Drums' and 'One Turn of the Earth' among many others, I think 'The Great Race' is there too.
I have about 15 Films in all and will probably get round to watching them all again one day.
