Not quite in the antique realm, but certainly another Caterpillar institution in the Performance Handbook is destined to the pages of history. In its current format since 1970, the Performance Handbook will cease to be published, with the 2020 (edition 49) being the last ever edition. Reflecting digital technology, printed hardcopies made way to an electronic copy only being available, but now even these will no longer be available for download. 

A consolidated earthmoving bible, it built on a long tradition of Cat slide rule calculators, salesmans reference books, profit guides and application guides to assist the modern contractor to leverage the power of Caterpillar equipment to make his business successful. I guess you can say this started right at the beginning of the Caterpillar Tractor Co. when the original 'Selling the Caterpillar' manuals were produced in 1926.
