I have 4 gas Fortys and parts from a fifth one that I would like to sell as a lot. They are old and tired and will require quite a bit of work but the engines are not stuck. 5g449 has a cat pto, 5G297 has the rear starting crank group and the front start crank I put on after removing the LaPlante front pump. 5G75 has the cat front bumper group and crankcase guard. This is quite a pile of iron but the gas Fortys are a little rare. I really don't want to sell them off individually, I'm hoping to find a serious collector who is willing to take on a challenge. I am asking $16,000 for the lot and all the extra parts I have and have made for them. Message me or email if you are interested , I am located west of Peoria IL. Thanks John

Hi Johno,
Trying to help a man down here in Oz with a Diesel Forty. Wondering if you have a good master clutch plate lying about that you could measure the lining thickness of for me. I'm assuming that the Forty and the Diesel Forty used the same clutch plate, but I stand to be corrected.

Hi Cable, I do not have any exposed master clutch parts to measure but give me a couple days and I'll take off the inspection cover and see if I can get you a measurement. According to my parts books the 1A7520 clutch discs were used in the 35 diesel, 40 diesel, 40 gas, some of the R5s and early RD6 to serial # 2H3712 . John

Cable I took inspection plate off one of the 40's and measured the lining and came up with .148" to .155". I do not know how worn it is or what a new lining would measure. I know the linings on the Sixty are 1/8" new. Hope this is of some help. John

Hi John,
We are out of the woods. The machine owner found a supplier in the Sydney area who had all the data as was able two supply two new friction discs. Many thanks for your help.
