”These photos are of the 1936 cat 40 that I no longer need and would like to sell. Possibly a collector would be interested.
I believe this tractor started as a farm tractor and someone added a dozer blade. A co-worker bought the tractor from someone in Monroe Washington area in the late 70's to clear a five acre lot near Duvall Wa. He added the canopy for protection from falling limbs. I bought it from him in 1983 to work in my tree farm. I built roads, dug a basement and hauled logs over the years. I sold most of the tree farm since my children are not interested in tree farming.
This tractor has been parked under a car port structure since I owned it. It still has the hand crank pony motor for starting the diesel engine. I replaced the magnito a few years ago. It has never had detergent oil which I am told is bad for the bearings. The right brake was worked on by the previous owner and it has an out of round drum. The right-side idler wheel was built up to keep the track from coming off. I haven't started it in about three years. I have a grease pump, track wrench, the fender that was removed for the hydraulic tank and a few other spare parts.”
