Hi Razor, folks probably would like to know the serial number and undercarriage measurements if you can provide them, and the sale price (unless the "25k" in the subject line is the price? If so, indicate that clearly)
Cheers,
Neil

Thank you Neil - first time using the site so appreciate the guidance. I'll get the SERIAL later today and share that. If you have any other questions or suggestions please fire away and I'll add to the post this evening. The tractor runs strong and sounds great once you get it going. It definitely needs the carburetor rebuilt but we're pretty sure that's all it needs and it's off and running. yes... will follow up with serial asap. thx again

Sorry to say but the PL serial number makes it a Caterpillar TWENTY. The radiator was probably changed back in the day. The 25 would be a rare tractor. Making your price about $24,000 too high

There are people looking for the Twenty Five radiator sides and, I would guess trade a set of Twenty sides and some cash for them. I bought a Twenty Five a couple of weeks ago, it was delivered today, I paid $1,600 for it. It needs a lot of work.
Thanks

is there a spot on the tractor where I can find the serial to confirm? The only serial I found is on a metal plate mounted behind the seat. Would the serial be stamped anywhere else? Really appreciate this info - Thanks

There is a place for a serial number tag just below the oil filler toward the front of the engine on the manifold side, there is usually one on the back of the transmission case under the seat by the drawbar brackets. I do not know about the later tractors but on the earlier machines, it could also be found on the machined spot for the back tappet guides and on the transmission case. Sorry for this, I have OCD and have spent a little bit of time researching this series of tractors. That said, my guess is your machine is a Twenty. It has Twenty final drives, Twenty front idler bearings, Twenty fuel tank, and almost all of the tinwork is wrong and would need to be replaced if a full/correct restoration was being done. If it is a PL Twenty get it running good and enjoy it. If the other serial number plates are Twenty Five serial numbers you are going to need to do a whole lot of work and replace all of the incorrect parts to make it worth what you are asking. I do like the track pads! And a nice tow hook under it too.
Thanks
Ken
