I am taking a shot in the dark but may causes other that know more to speak up. Some of the early pony motors used the same pistons as the small gas Cats, but I don't know which.

I believe the pony motor pistons from a D13000 engine. Don't have a parts book in front of me to compare numbers. I've fitted new bronze bushings in the rods for those pistons in the past.

The earliest style starting engine as used on the D60/65, D50, D70 and D75 did not use the Ten piston. The next style of starting engine used the Ten piston for a while but I can not give serial number breaks as I do not have all of my parts books here in my office. I can tell you that by the time the 2H series RD/D6 came out starting engine piston had been changed and the Ten piston was no longer used. The Ten valve train seems to have been used almost to the end of this style of starting engines
Thanks
Ken

It doesn't look like I have standard pistons. I have 1 set that is stamped c743 on 3 of the pistons and 40 over on the 4th one. Thely measure 3.4 to 3.45 inches. The second set I have , all 4 dare marked 50 over.. I also have
a complete 10 engine still in the chassis.

I did manage a few years back to find a couple sets of standard Cat Ten pistons.......one set is slated to be going in my wifes HiCrop Ten and the other probably into a wide Ten I recently found and am negotiating to buy. If it doesn't work out and I decide to sell I will let you know.
Have a good day.....Bill
