Cat should still supply those parts.

Wow 😯
O thank goodness .... I'd hate to go out and stomp through 4 feet of snow to go get some off my parts rig.

Rome K/G, Thanks for the information. I talked to a Cat Salesman and learned to add "0's" to make a 6-digit part number to be able to look up parts. The tough part of ordering these parts from cat is that for me the cover #3 was shipping from somewhere in Ohio, (he thought, Maybe Germany. Just order it and see where it comes from) the spring #4 from Fenton, Mo, and the two covers #11 and #10 from the warehouse in Illionois. For Cat to deliver the order to the local drop box, I will be charged $27.03 inbound freight from each of the locations to the local store in Springfield MO adding $81.90 to an already $112.72 order for a total of $194.62. My pockets are just not that deep. I like these old machines but sometime there gets to be a limit. Although when you get so far into one of these machines and find parts that need to be replaced to make it operational, what do you do? Fix it or scrap the entire project. For the most part scrapping is not an option which leaves one option

I found the spring #4 for $8.13, and the two covers #10 and #11 for $9.09 and $12.13 for a total of $29.35 all with no shipping cost delivered to me. Still haven't found the Ring, #3 1A5592. I may be able to repair the one I have (rusted with holes) but I was hoping someone would have a parts machine with a good part. Sometimes it is just tough. Brian Boaz

Hi Bboaz,
Here on the big island to the left, I get my dealer to order them as a stock item and pay for them up front. Some of the items have come all over the US and Germany and there is no extra charges, the only thing is I have to do is sometimes wait 3 months but the delivery from Germany took 12 months.

Regards

Daryl

Rome K/G, Found the ring (1A5590) on E-bay for $20.91 with no shipping cost and ordered it. Now I have all the parts coming for $50.26, which is about the same as the one part from Caterpillar. Where did you come up with the part number 1A5590? My parts book calls it an 8F8080. I did a search using the 8F8080 number and never did find any other numbers for the part. I've got a new boot and seal to rebuild the shifting tower with new parts so maybe I can keep the rainwater out of the transmission. Thanks for your help. Brian Boaz

I got the 1A5592 from a 7U D4 parts book, that had the same parts as you had pictured. Cat has the 8F8080 for $51.00

I guess we will see if they are the same when it gets here. All it does is hold the boot in place in what my book calls the Plate.
