I have a D4-7U w/HT4. Pony motor locked the last time I started it. Has lots of hours. #1 piston rod looks like a wet noodle. After tear down I believe the crankshaft and both piston rods are beyond redemption. Looking for those parts along with bearings. Spoke to local Cat dealer and they were unable to assist. Part # 4B903 Crank, 6F4330 Piston Rod (2), 3B3014 Bearing set, 6B2848 Comp. Rings (4) and 2A3660 Oil Rings (4).  Please let me know if they are available. Thanks

Try Florin Tractor in Sacramento, CA. Dana or Dennis are super helpful. I got a pony crank there last year. Or try General Gear, Idaho. (tractorparts.com) Good luck,

Tony

Tony, how much does a pony motor crank cost, I didn't know Florin had them?
Thanks
Mike

Easiest thing to do is scout around for a complete pony that has been removed from the tractor. Mike: When the crankshafts were available 25-30 years ago, dealers wanted in excess of $1000.00 USD! JM

I have a couple of crank shafts that might be useable. I also might part with a complete motor.

My guy built up a small crank back to std when I was in there last for about $500. I had my 5U crank front journal rebuilt to std (no undersize bearings available) and the others to 030 for about 1500 as I recall

Cheers,
Neil
